The foundation of Everett Youth Soccer Club is to develop the whole player. Our coaches provide an environment that encourages each player to achieve their highest potential, both as an individual and as a member of a team. Through the spirit of cooperation and competition, our programs foster the physical and mental development that is necessary to excel at soccer in a healthy character-building environment that combines both fun and excellence for youth soccer players year-round.

Please arrive 15-20 minutes early to check in each day. Each player will receive a numbered jersey each day, to wear during tryouts. Players must return the jersey after each tryout session.

Tryout numbers are used by our coaching staff when making player selections and when posting the player selection online. Make sure to make note of your player’s jersey number.

Players are strongly encouraged to attend both days of tryouts. If you can attend only one session (or will be arriving late), please let our check-in staff know. No make-up tryouts will be held.

Tryouts generally consist of two sessions, one per day, each 75-90 minutes.

Players must wear appropriate soccer footwear, shin guards and bring their own water bottle. Players may not wear jewelry of any kind. This includes necklaces, rings, earrings, or bracelets of any kind (including rubber bracelets).

Players may NOT wear current club or development program affiliated clothing. This includes Everett FC clothing from prior seasons. Players doing so may be asked to remove such items during tryouts. Tryouts are held rain or shine.

After all players have checked in, a Tryout Facilitator will call participants onto the field to provide players with tryout instructions. Players will be put into small-sided games, and potentially full field games (7v7, 9v9, or 11v11) for assessment by our Director of Coaching (DOC), Technical Director and a subset of competitive Everett FC coaches.

During the course of the tryout sessions players will move from field to field to be evaluated by as many coaches as possible. All players will be evaluated based on their technical, tactical, attitude/effort, and focus/concentration. We will have extra coaches on site evaluating players to provide input and feedback for Head Coaches.

Following the final tryout session for your age group, the tryout coaches will provide their input to the Director of Coaching. Player selections will be posted on the EYSC website within a few days of tryouts.

Players will be listed by their assigned jersey numbers from tryouts. Players must respond to the coach via email within 24 hours to accept or decline the position. Failure to respond may mean that the coach offers the position to an alternate player. If you do not see your player’s jersey number listed on the website, he/she was not selected for a team.

Some teams will post Alternate numbers. These players have not been selected for a team, but if a selected player declines an invitation, an alternate player may be invited to join the team.

Alternate numbers are listed in ascending order. (Being first in the list of alternates does not necessarily indicate that that player will be the first player selected in the event a player declines.)

  • U15 and older will have a roster of 18 players and can go as high as 22 players. *Please note: Rosters can only have 18 players for games.
